We start our winter closings in mid October. The call procedure is the same as in the spring, we will contact you and setup a good time to come out and winterize your system. When we show up for your appointment, we come equipped with a heavy duty tow behind compressor and all the necessary fittings to ensure your system is freeze proof. One of our specialists will shut the water to the main lines and proceed to hook the compressor up to the backflow valve at the point where it supplies the rest of the system. After all connections are made we will pressurize the lines with air and go through the zones until all water is removed. This is a crucial part of maintaining a sprinkler system and should not be avoided or overlooked. Leaving water in the lines can lead to extensive damage and even major flooding. Basically its the same thing as pipes in a house freezing and the cost associated with prevention far outweigh the potential costs to repair damage.
